Arab League Chief: Stop the siege of Gaza

Arab League Chief Amr Mussa said in his first visit to the Gaza Strip, Sunday (6/13/2010), that the Israeli siege for four years against the Hamas-controlled territory shall be revoked.
"The blockade which we all face here should be revoked and the attitude of the Arab League in this matter is clear," Mussa said after Palestinian officials from various groups greeted him at the Rafah border with Egypt. "Not only the Arabs, but the entire world should support the Palestinians against the siege of Gaza, and what happens in the occupied Arab territory, particularly in east Jerusalem," he said.
These observers argue, the arrival of Amr Mousa to the Gaza Strip, is a sign of Arab pressure will be increased to an immediate end to Israel's blockade of Palestinian territories it. The visit was the first by the Arab League secretary general to the Gaza Strip and took place almost two weeks after Israeli soldiers attacked the fleet of international humanitarian assistance.
Amr Moussa into the pockets of Hamas-ruled territory is poor for a visit one day from Egypt via the Rafah border crossing, which opened May 31 in Cairo after Israel's interception of ships flying its flag Mavi Marmara Turkey. Hamas spokesman, Sami Abu Zuhri declared Moussa's visit reflects the growing sense among Arab leaders that the blockade of Gaza must be immediately terminated.
